Tony Mills, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Anthony Mills is an HIV Specialist and is the CEO of the Men’s Health Foundation and President of the Southern California Men’s Medical Group in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Mills is also the Principal Investigator at Mills Clinical Research and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Mills earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University and his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Mills has an extensive research background and has conducted numerous clinical trials for HIV treatment and prevention. Dr. Mills is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of American, HIV Medical Association, International AIDS Society, IAS-USA, and the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Dr. Panagiotis Vagenas
Director of Research Programs
Dr. Panagiotis Vagenas received his bachelor’s and master’s in biochemistry and Ph.D. in immunology from Imperial College London and a Master's of Public Health from Yale University. He has over 15 years of research experience, focusing on HIV/AIDS among key populations. He worked on vaccines for HIV, at the Population Council and the Rockefeller University in New York. He then joined the faculty at the Yale School of Medicine, where his research focused on the intersection of substance abuse and HIV, with a particular emphasis on alcohol and drug use among people with or at risk for HIV, as well as medication-assisted therapies for substance use disorders. Following Yale, he joined a global health nonprofit, where he oversaw the institutional research agenda, the ethical conduct of research and strategic research planning. He joined the Men’s Health Foundation as Director of Research Programs in 2019. He has authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles, published in high-impact journals. He is experienced with quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design, grant writing, project management and evaluation.
Alfonso Coro, MPH
Director of Clinical Research Operations
Alfonso is an experienced clinical research and healthcare strategic planning and operations executive. He has an established career working at renowned academic research centers, hospital systems, and cancer centers. He is well versed in strategy, operations, quality, compliance, telemedicine and the use of biotechnology for the advancement of healthcare.
Alfonso earned his Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis in Global Health Policy and Management from New York Medical College, and he also holds a Master of Arts from California State University, Los Angeles, focusing on Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Alfonso’s interests include disease prevention, public health awareness and wellness and he is particularly interested in the use of technology to bring therapeutic treatments that have quality of life improving benefits and potential curative benefits to the people who need them.
