Beginning June 1, 2025, the federal government will dramatically reduce funding for HIV/STI testing and treatment. As a direct result, we will no longer be able to provide critical no-cost HIV/STI services to uninsured individuals.
These cuts are a public health emergency in the making.
Since the height of the HIV epidemic, we’ve made extraordinary progress in the fight for prevention, detection, and care. But now, as we move closer to winning that fight, we are again faced with an administration that denies us access to the resources we need to preserve our health and wellbeing.
Without early detection and treatment, infections will go undiagnosed, untreated, and continue to spread — especially among the most vulnerable who already face barriers to accessing care, causing lasting harm to many.
This setback threatens to undo decades of progress in reducing infection rates and ensuring health equity in our most vulnerable communities. We are not alone. Organizations like ours across the nation face the same devastating threat. But together, we can fight back. Help us fight back by visiting the links below.
